TREND at Womad Earth Station Festival

TREND at WOMAD Earth Station FestivalEarth Station is a new festival produced by the organisers of the internationally renowned WOMADelaide festival, a major event on Adelaide’s music calendar.
This was the first opportunity for the TREND team to get out, raise awareness and talk to the community about the work that we’re doing. Generating baseline data and monitoring key South Australian ecosystems and agricultural regions is a major challenge. However, collecting this information helps ensure we can effectively manage our natural resources in the face of a changing environment. The public can provide a key resource in generating this data through our citizen science program.

TREND leaders were on hand to talk about our work and create links with other organisations and the community to make TREND as useful and relevant as possible.
TREND received a lot of interest from festival goers, including guest speaker Cate Blanchett (pictured below with Prof Andy Lowe and Dr Nikki Thurgate). Keep an eye out for TREND at public events, including our formal launch in early 2012.
